Abstract
In the current competitive environment, the centralization of power and the lack ofautonomy of employees are characteristicsthat prevent the development of organizations. With this emerged the need to verify the use of empowerment asa tool of power and, consequently, of commitment to the organization. Thisstudy had as main objective to verify the contribution of the organizational commitment and thepsychological empowerment for positiveorganizations. The empirical component was supported by an exploratory, quantitative, descriptive-correlational study, having, for this purpose, constituted a sample of 205participants from three organizations withthe same (average) dimension , in the industrialsector. A questionnaire wasapplied, where the first part is intended to analyze sociodemographic data, and another tomeasure psychological empowermentand organizational commitment through two scales (Spreitzer,1995; Rego & Souto, 2002, 2004). Accordingto the results, the dimensions of the two variables have significant relationships with each other andcontribute positively to the perception of employees about commitmentand psychological empowerment. In summary, in general, bothin theoretical and empiricalterms, it is verified thatthese two variables make a significant contribution to positive organizations, given that they areessential tools for their successand for the satisfaction oftheir elements.
