Abstract
Plenty of research focus has been made trying to understand the radicalization process of Islamic extremism, although there is a scarcity of the studies concerning theprocess of de-radicalization under which an extremist renounces violence, abandons a group or movement, or rejects a radical vision of the world.
For that matter it is important to understand the Islamic de-radicalization process, comparing programs implemented in the Middle East and Asia with those in Europe, analyzing their respective strategies and some of its challenges, to extract some conclusions.
