Abstract

Engrained in the evolutionary economic and contingency theories, this paper offers the rationale for an empirical test of hypothesis about the direct effects of corporate culture on servitisation and on the operational performance of the firm. It proposes to apply a rigourous structural equations modelling analysis of a vast multi respondents international survey of manufacturing practices around the world. This work offers a theoretical discussion and operational measures of corporate culture. In formulating hypothesis, it challenges the assumption that deservitisation is necessarily a failure in servitising but can be an efficient way to increase profits in competition-intense and cost-based mature industries.
