Abstract

In this study, it was our intention to analyze and understand the fraternal relationship between healthy siblings and siblings with disabilities, responding to
questions such as: What changes in the family life cycle? What implications did they have for the development of a healthy sibling's life? Will a healthy sibling have quality of life? Can a healthy brother at some point have been harmed or neglected by the family system and other systems that surround him (e.g., society, school, associations)? Will it make sense for the foundation of an association of support not only to families but specifically to sibling caregivers? After comparing the collected data, we conclude that the quality of life of healthy siblings is proportionally affected by their brother's disability.
