Abstract
The concept of decent work was proposed by the International Labor Organization in 1999 with the essence and scope of ensuring the rights of workers on a global scale. Decent work is an integrative concept that aims the promotion of social justice and sustainable development. The aim of this study is to evaluate the workers' perception about the presence of the decent work in their work context. After a literature review, a quantitative approach was adopted, of the descriptive and exploratory type, using a case study in a department of telecommunications projects. The results show that, on average, workers agree moderately that their work is decent. The adequacy of the time and workload, the significant remuneration for the exercise of citizenship and social protection have revealed dimensions with a reduced agreement, presenting a deficit. The other dimensions deserved moderate agreement. To this extent, there is room for improvement in working conditions, where managers, in line with the human resources department, can play a key and differentiating role. The study provides valuable information for workers and collective entities, laying the groundwork for future investigations.
