Abstract

This paper seeks to reflect on the “poetic word’s” potential, in particular its ability to establish itself as an access to philosophy genuine instrument, rivaling even with the philosophical logos or the reason itself. It is, certainly, a problem that is inserted in the very old tradition of epistemological and critical questioning of the philosophy legitimacy, marking even its historical genesis under the aegis of the dispute between mythos and logos, when Hélade assisted to the first parade of a new thinkers category, that Aristotle has distinguished from the ancient poets. Making the economy of the nuances analysis which that problem has assumed, we present, although synthetically, its aesthetic implication, in the footsteps of Mikel Dufrenne that, in the obvious originality of his thought, cannot avoid, in the core of this issue, a certain contradiction that we also will underline. Indeed, having striven to demonstrate the superiority of the poetic word on the logos in understanding the mystery of reality, to the point of exercising, on this latter, a seduction force, Dufrenne does not close the argument without trying to save, in extremis, the two languages’ balanced cooperation, which is configured as the subject of an antinomy. It is, therefore, a question that has as its fundamental tectonic the unavoidable problem of the relationship among art, language and philosophy.
