Abstract

This article reflects upon the link between the popular festivities and the usage of gold ornaments initially used in everyday life of rural population enhancing the relationship of gold ornaments with the traditional and ritual costumes and with the catholic religion. In this case, such is done through the votive offerings, the ornamentations of sacred images and of the wooden frameworks which carriage them in procession as well as the gold embellishments of the participants in such occasions. We selected places in different regions and with different traditions in the usage of gold ornaments showing that this fact occurs through the country.
