Abstract
Over more than one hundred years of history, the cinematic art path has been followed by numerous technological advances that have been enabled filmmakers a more and more endless number of resources that aim to enhance the film production. The emergence of digital technology to the cinema represents a deeply significant landmark for the Cinema History. The digital era democratized the act of making cinema by making it more accessible and imminent, however, not being a guarantee of qualitative improvement by itself. Cinema is an expression and Technology is a science. Conscious of this dichotomy, at different points, for more than a century, cinema has been able to successfully overcome technical (and economic) needs without losing, nevertheless, its significant and aesthetic capacity. But just as the act of making cinema has been developing, the act of envisioning it has also been undergoing significant changes. By analyzing several data on consumption habits, we will determine in this written essay that the classic dark movie theaters have been losing its role in recent years. The recent platforms of video streaming are currently stronger, fairly attractive and clearly growing in the ability to seduce an audience more and more fan of the new technologies and that does not seem to determine an added value in the traditional movie theaters for example, as enhancing favorable atmospheres to the cinema´s expressive and aesthetic roles.
