Abstract
Teixeira de Pascoaes is a Portuguese poet and philosopher whose work, in the frst period, was dominated by a gnostic and pantheistic vision of the world, although with a gradual an approach to Christianity . Tere he developed a universal perspective of humanity, where we fnd values which we consider to be of high importance to the conception of human rights a few decades later. In this sense, Teixeira de Pascoaes may be regarded as thinker ahead of his historical time.
