Abstract
The present article aims to reflect on the relationship between work, the utopia of equality and inclusiveness. This reflection, however, must be framed within the historical and conceptual context that structures and helps to explain it. Our aim is to do an analytical approach that crosses diachronic values of post-modernity and the current practices of working life. We come to the conclusion that the aforementioned relationship is deeply tinged by the values of post modernity. The interest and the ideological discourse supposedly create strong and cohesive narratives, that are structured as a fragmented culture and that are subjected to the deconstruction and to the metanarratives. This research explains the “inevitability” of the past, emphasizing options and routes chosen, and denounces the practices of the present, taking as a reference the horizons of citizenship and commitment to the knowledge society as the panacea tor inclusiveness. It is a discourse divorced from reality and that is tar from putting the individual at the center of political attention.
