Abstract
In this study we intend to analyse, though briefly, on the importance of cultural travel undertaken between Portugal and Spain in the twenties and thirties, giving as example, the Republican Leonardo Coimbra and the Monarchist Antonio Sardinha's cultural travels to Spain and Marqués de Quintanar's trips to Portugal, which, for different circumstances, will have a decisive impact on their lives and will pave the way to new opportunities for academic, cultural and touristic level. This exchange will have reflections in the cultural policies taken by Mar- qués de Quintanar as President of the National Patronage of the Spanish Tourism and by António Ferro, director of the National Propaganda Secre- tariat in order to create and consolidate a tourism industry. Today, the Iberian cultural tourism in their literary and / or intellectual aspects, as shared market segment achieves a degree of unique develop- ment in the history of the two peninsular countries, seeking to consolidate and expand the network, both in terms of the creation of common policies and the dissemination of its cultural heritage.
