Abstract

Buiding on a paper titled “Ugarit, Fenícia e Canaã: questões de metodologia e delimitações histo-riográficas”, published by José Augusto Ramos in 1991, it is discussed the presence of a Middle Kingdom Egyptian apotropaic ivory wand at Ugarit, by considering cultural circulations as a process of negotiation of meaning and identity, through the lens of the concepts of third space and hybridism put forward by Homi Bhabha, and by assuming a global systemic approach.
