Youth coaches in different sports are one of the pillars for the training and development of young athletes. Yet most of the literature on the subject of youth training in sports focuses on the athletes and the variables that influence them, rather than on the coaches themselves. This study aims to fill this gap in the literature by focusing specifically on coaches. The study used a quantitative methodology and by distributing questionnaires that focused on job satisfaction, motivation and the perception of performance of training coaches, the aim was to analyze the relationship between these variables. The sample consisted of 292 youth coaches. The results indicate that coaches' satisfaction with working conditions positively predicts intrinsic motivation, but do not show a significant relationship between job satisfaction and extrinsic motivation. It was also found that coaches' intrinsic motivation positively predicts their perceived performance, and that the relationship between extrinsic motivation and their perceived performance is not significant.
