Abstract
This work is part of a Master's Degree program aimed at obtaining a Master’sDegree in "Community action Groups in relation to the vulnerable and excluded groups". Starting from a case study carried out in two social housing neighborhoods, namely; Padre Cruz and Horta Nova, located in Carnide area. The aim is to analyze the various strategies and dynamics of the CGs, for the integration of vulnerable groups. The results achieved indicate that the CGs, constitute an adequate response to the phenomena of poverty and social exclusion today, based on the strategic principles that guide them, namely: participation, partnership and joint-action. Grounded on these principles, they share values, establish agreements, pursue common objectives, schedule activities, identify problems and seek solutions. However, it is noted that there is a lack of focus among the vulnerable groups, as they are not part of the participatory dynamics of Community Groups. For their innovation, the CGs need to integrate the vulnerable groups, hence the first area of contribution of this study.
