Abstract

This report has been developed within the second cycle of studies of Computer Teaching, Faculty of Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University - Regional Centre of Braga. This document focuses on the Supervised Teaching Practice (PES) on which we analyze and reflect on the teaching-learning process and evaluate the potential of this methodology based Learning in Problem Solving (ABRP), in the context of learning Scratch tool, the over a semester in ICT subject. The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have a fundamental and irreplaceable role in our society for school is a structuring institution of society, and they are fundamental in the process of learning in current teaching practices. It is intended, therefore, that the student recognizes and review a more active and participatory role in learning itself. As action research, our study focused exclusively in 8th year classes of the 3rd cycle of Basic Education (CEB) of a school in the city of Braga and we chose them from a convenience sample, corresponding to 54 students. The objective of our study was to determine to what extent the use of the methodology ABRP potentiates the learning Scratch tool. The conclusions show that the proposed objectives were reached showing responsiveness on the part of students. The analysis of the results highlighted that 70,4% considered that the methodology ABRP contributed to its self-learning and, in this form of exploitation of the Scratch tool, 92% of students felt they gained a deeper understanding of the tool. During this study the role of the students was an active, participatory, collaborative and autonomous acquisition of their own learning and we believe that the methodology was adequate for learning Scratch tool. This report also reflects on the route performed over the Pedagogic Practice Supervised, highlighting the work of either academic in nature or non-academic, and how this work was reflected in the construction of a 'me' teacher.
