This research aims to examine the role and the role that pharmacies, drug stores and large surfaces currently have with regard to the sale of medicines. The methodology adopted is qualitative in nature, with recourse to semi -structured interview as data collection instrument and the content analysis as a treatment technique and analysis of the information collected. The study involved the participation of eight individuals who hold positions in the pharmaceutical industry, it was concluded that competition in the sector is increasing and that pharmacies have to adapt to this new reality not to close doors.
