Abstract

The Mathematics communication, which is the way how the mathematical contents are presented and explained, is an area extremely important in the learning process, often considered by many students as a barrier in the teaching-learning process. In this study, we explore, particularly, the importance of a good mathematical communication while working with children with Autism Spectrum disorders (ASD). Allied to this theme we also reflected on the importance and influence of Parental Involvement (PA) in the development of these children, in a future perspective, in order to maximize the teaching-learning process and minimize the difficulties experienced in this field to achieve more success on their children. The focus is also the work developed by Special Education teachers, which should be the mirror of inclusive practice. The purpose of their work is helping in endow the student, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and skills to enable them a full and appropriate social integration. Based on this premise, a student's intervention plan under study was drawn and is presented in this work. The presented approach brings us the importance of partnership working between school (including teachers and in particular those of Special Education) and family. We, therefore, believe that these education professionals give the first step, because they use different, innovative and appropriate methods and strategies according to the characteristics of the children concerned. The involvement and proactive participation of parents in collaboration with teachers provide these students more academic success and therefore a more smiling future. That was the corroboration that we have obtained based on this study and the implementation of the action plan presented. We realize that the intervention was a success because the child involved exceeded initial expectations.
