This report aims to describe the entire creative and technical process of “Alvorada” short film’s production phases, as part of the final project of the Master’s Degree in Sound and Image, specialization in Cinema and Audiovisual. “Alvorada” tells Vasco’s story, a boy initiated in the extremist ideals of his brother, expressed through the Black Metal Nacional-Socialist music genre. However, Vasco does not identify with this movement’s nature, and hides from his brother his true sexuality in order to avoid the fraternal rupture while tracing the path of self-acceptance. This document describes and analyzes the various stages of the project, starting with the conception of the film script and going through the pre-production, production and post-production phases, with particular attention to explaining the screenwriting, directing and editing processes that have been undertaken by the author.
