: o caso do "Mercado noticioso da saudade"

Abstract

Based on the deconstruction of the Azorean press, the purpose of this study is to analyse the links between emigrants who live in the communities of the diaspora and the Azorean newspapers, in order to understand the significance of the local press as a way of preserving the emotional bonds between the migrants and their origin. The aim is to understand how the “saudade news market” is materialized, trying to perceive if the press is in fact a way of immortalizing, in the Azoreans memory, the essence of being an islander not letting them forget the mystique of living in the westernmost Atlantic islands.
