The development of this critical report comes as part of the Master of Science in Education - Specialization in Educational Supervision and Evaluation of Teachers. I tried to make a theoretical framework, with contributions from many experts on the subject, to realize the importance given to this theme. The role of the school and its stakeholders has changed significantly in the past years, due, probably, to a complex society, a society clearly capitalist, however, at the moment, struggling with an economic crisis. The teaching evaluation became part of public debates, taking coverage from the media, because the teacher has to be evaluated, which led to several controversies and lack of consensus. A special emphasis is given to the Teacher Performance Assessment, is also given to the implemented models and the constraints senses. It was a topic that caused a big debate and generated many conflicts within the school, emerging an unhealthy climate. The teachers had to adapt themselves to new models and new ways of being in the workplace. Consequently, there were many questions, in particular about the terms supervision, evaluation and classification. Faced with these terms, a layman would refer them to the same reality, which is not the case, as we can see throughout the work. We reproduce the environment experienced in schools, showing the details of these, the difficulties and their relationship with family, highlighting the role of the class leader, as a link between the two realities. During the twenty- two years of my career I went through good and bad moments and I will describe in this work my outbursts, my criticism and my reflections on this exciting activity. I called this report THE DIFFICULT ART OF BEING A TEACHER because, during my career, there were difficult times, being away from my family and the assessment that I was subject, which were not easy to overcome, however, I always tried my best. The schools / clusters and consequently its elements tend to generate strategies for survival, after being “caught in this web of political conflicts and contradictions” (Azevedo, 2011, p.83).
