Abstract

Pope Francis invites us to abandon the logic of domination and exploitation and waste and calls us to collaborate fully in combating poverty, giving dignity to the excluded again, and safeguarding nature. The common good is a central and unifying principal of ethics, a principal that is based on respect for the human person as such. It is necessary to defend and promote the common good, since, all of us, contributing with a sincere heart, dedicate our attention and solidarity to the poorest and make them a preferential option. Interreligious dialogue is a major challenge in the era of globalization. Now is the time to meet and create bonds of peace as a path of ecological conversion, in favor of a peaceful relationship between communities, in general, and the earth, between the present and memory, between experiences and hopes. To promote a set of fundamental values for an ecological conversion, is to lead the human being to realize that the land is a community to which he belongs and he will thus begin to treat it with love and mutual respect. An ecological conversation calls our attention to an environmental responsibility and commitment, associated with the ethical values of respect, compassion and solidarity.
