Abstract

Drugs has become a major public health problems in the developed countries. The international community has developed policies and concentrated efforts to alleviate the dimension of trafficking and consumption of drugs and solve their cross-cutting aspects. The EU action plan on drugs (2009-2012), alert to the need to do more to reduce the impact of health problems, social, economic and development caused by drug use.Being a highly specific and complex area, it is required that nurses should increase their preparation, to have knowledge about the factors involved in this disease and apply the most affective intervention. This report informs the activities along the stage conducted within the specialization in Nursing of mental health and Psychiatry.The first chapter presents an overview of the current situation in Europe in regard to drugs and drug addiction, as well as efforts by the international community to confront this situation. Then there is a thematic approach to various themes that influate the quality of nursing care provided in this specific area of addictions, such as: the relational aspect of nursing, nursing, Nursing query, health education, the interview and Motivacional and Relaxation techniques. This chapter ends with a discussion of the process of rehabilitation and reintegration of people with mental illness and/or with drug problems. The second chapter is organized to meet the objectives in the draft stage, as well as ensure critical activities that contributed to the consolidation of skills
