Abstract

Family and the sacrament of marriage are extremely relevant elements in a person’s life and, consequently, they occupy a central position in the society. Both are basilar to the society e constitute a place for citizenship e personal development. Therefore, they need to be strengthened in social and ecclesial day to day life. This way, family and marriage become the foundation of Christian solidarity and testimony that the Church seeks to live. This work studies the state of family and matrimony in Cape Vert, as well as its insertion in African familiar context, from a theological point of view. The first chapter presents the social context of cape-verdian families. Next, is exposed the path of mercy that the Church can offer to African families, to enculturate the Gospel. In the third chapter an essay of proposals for the Gospel to gain form in this reality is formulated. This is done so the nuptials celebrate a joy capable of illuminate all matrimonial and family life.
