Several studies on the change and improvement of teaching point to the need to think about organizational change in conjunction with the education and emphasize the importance of shared leadership action focused on curricular learning. From the association between organizational change and professional development emerges a concept of education centered on academic contexts and professional practices. This perspective is very present in the guidelines of the Scientific-Pedagogical Council for Continuous Education and is frequently invoked by the Training Centers of Schools Association (CFAE).Our study aims to understand how schools organize and plan their education, to understand the involvement of directors in the process of building, accompanying and monitoring the educational plan and to ask how the impact which continuous training produces on the teaching and learning process is analyzed. learning. In this qualitative study, we used the analysis of the educational plans (2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020) of the six clusters and a non-clustered school which are part of a training center for the association of schools in the northern interior of Portugal, as well as the semi-structured interview with its directors. The study points to an overvaluation of the initial diagnosis and consultation process of the various curricular departments (in line with the policies practised in the academic year to which each educational plan relates) in relation to the monitoring of its execution by the pedagogical council (based on a report prepared by the teacher responsible for training) and the analysis of the impact of training on the improvement of educational practices and the professional development of teachers. The involvement of the directors in each phase of the training plan varies between non-interference, guidance and formal coordination as chair of the pedagogical council and active participation.
