We do believe that the current trend of teaching runs the risk of turning the human values into forgotten issues due to the fact that education itself seems to be focused almost exclusively in the scientific knowledge of the human being, leaving the artistic experience into the background, with all the positive things that this experience can give to life and human happiness. The present work aims to show how arts education can provide students rich experiences in which they have the possibility to associate the values. For this we studied in depth the methodology proposed by the author Alfonso López Quintás in an attempt to provide the student with a comprehensive education. According to this author, the experience of art, when well conducted, directs us to the discovery of a new path for education. One way in which human beings find their true nature. The theoretical part of this work consisted primarily in the deeper understanding of this methodology through contact with the author's work above, plus some personal contacts that we believe operating with a surplus value. In the practical part, we tried to apply this methodology in the class 11ºH of Escola Secundária Camilo Castelo Branco, in which we conducted our teaching practice, using the Course of History of Culture and Arts. Intending with this application, analyze the importance of this methodology in the design of an integral formation of the student.
