Abstract

This Final Report finishes the stage of the Supervised Teaching Practice carried out at Escola Básica de Damião de Góis in Marvila, Lisbon, as a part of the Master’s Degree in Religious Sciences. It deals with Teaching Unit 4 – “Building Fraternity” of the 5th year of the degree, and has the objective to be a contribution so that fraternity can be seen as a driving force for the transformation of relationships at school. Based on theology, Sacred Scripture and the Magisterium, we discuss this subject, seeking to contribute to deepening this reflection, which is so useful and necessary today, when we see this new conflicts emerging in the world at an impressive and frightening rate. As far as authors are concerned, Gaston Fessard and Pope Francisco are very important in our reflection. In summary, we propose a Training Workshop for teachers to create awareness to the importance of working on the theme of Fraternity in their classes, so that more fraternal relationships can be built and pedagogical practices can also go hand in hand. Here, Fraternity is presented as a principle of social and educational transformation and Catholic Moral and Religious Education is seen as a “laboratory of Fraternity” that create and provide an holistic formation for our students.
