Abstract

This report comes within the scope of the 15th master's degree in critical nursing, of the Institute of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal, with the aim of analysing the training path and the development of skills to clinical teachings in the ideology of the future specialist nurse. Clinical placements were carried out in a hospital environment, in an intensive care unit and in a cardiovascular center between September and December 2022. The model of Roper, Logan and Tierney was used as the theorethical framework to this report and to nursing care approach. The management of the hemodialysis catheter in the technique of replacing continuous renal function in critical situations, was tehe core theme on this jouney. A scoping review has been conducted and the protocol was published as poster in a scientific event. This review aimed at answering the two main questions, “What are the nursing interventions in the manipulation of the hemodialysis catheter in the technique of replacement of continuous renal function?”; “What are the nursing interventions related to the prevention of hemodialysis catheter complications in the continuous renal function replacement technique?”. This report was described based on reflexive analysis and literature search.
