Abstract

The initiative for the development of this study arose from a reflection on communication as a pillar for management and negotiation, communication that has several aspects, one of the main ones being non-verbal. Non-verbal communication is a topic that is increasingly gaining great interest from researchers and other scholars. Specialists in communication, management and in any other area where it is necessary to interact with others are starting to realize that non-verbal language is the basis of communication. Through it, it is possible to verify the true intentions of the people with whom communication is established and what is really intended with each interaction. In this way, with this study we intend to alert to the importance of non-verbal communication in the ability to communicate effectively, create relationship and empathy with the recipient of the message and increase the ability to influence. To understand the importance given to non-verbal communication and which communicative practices are used by entrepreneurs, managers and employees in the various types of organization, a questionnaire was carried out aimed at these types of people. Afterwards, the answers were presented, the collected data were analyzed and conclusions were drawn. It was possible to conclude that the vast majority of respondents attach significant importance to non-verbal communication, both at a personal and professional level and that the importance attributed depends on the gender, professional area, academic qualifications and communication skills of each one.
