Neurodiversity is a subject that is being used a lot today, where everyone is different and must be respected. From this perspective, the term neurodivergent has also been widely discussed, as it refers to individuals who have some type of non-standard difference. Autism is a neurodivergent example, a topic that has increasingly become an issue, given its importance. As for public policies, they are very necessary for this public, even more so if we think about these individuals who live in rural areas. With this in mind, this study aims to analyze how public policies occur in practice when referring to autistic people living in the rural environment, as well as to observe how public policies occur in rural spaces where people with autism are located, as well as understanding how public policies are applied in the daily lives of individuals with autism in the field of rural education and also discussing the importance of implementing existing public policies with regard to autistic people living in rural contexts. With this, we will discuss throughout this study how important public policies are for autistic people in the context of rural education. We will then see how necessary this discussion is regarding this topic of such relevance to academy.
