We are currently living in the digital era, and it is becoming increasingly common for people to use digital media to obtain information and knowledge for their lives. The growing use of social networks in everyday life has led to a change in people's habits when it comes to accessing information This research aims to understand the perception of individuals from generations Y and Z regarding the content shared by the Directorate-General for Health on social media, and how it can contribute to their health literacy. An interpretivist approach was adopted, using a qualitative methodology through semi-structured interviews with employees of the Directorate-General for Health, Health Professionals and individuals from generations Y and Z, in a total of 24 interviewees, to answer the following research question — “How does the content shared on the Directorate-General for Health's social media contribute to individuals' perception of their health literacy?”. The results show that the content shared on social media contributes positively to individuals' health literacy and the interviewees say they have a very positive perception of the health content shared on the Directorate-General for Health's social media.
