The syndrome of Williams (SW) is a disorder of the neurological development associated to a physical and behavioral characteristic phenotype. This syndrome was described, in 1961, by Williams et al who identified a group of children that suffered from supravalvular aortic stenosis, cognitive deficit and peculiar facial characteristics (“elf`s face”). Beuren et al described the syndrome by referring to a friendly nature of these children and, later, they included the dental anomalies and the stenosis of the pulmonary peripheral artery. Later, other authors associated the SW to the idiopathic hypercalcemia. The SW is not genetically transmitted and it doesn´t show environmental and medical causes or the influence of psychosocial factors. Starting from the epistemological principle that gift is a notion that acquires intelligibility in a way that the subjects` intentionality is recovered from that relationship and, according to a qualitative methodology, we tried to investigate the presence of the gift in the relationships that a student that suffers from SW establishes with the others and the teachers in the educational context of the intervention. From the specific case of a student with SW, and taking into account the theoretical framework of SW and the strong areas of the students with this syndrome, we tried to evaluate the benefits of the integration of these students in the regular teaching, as well as the impact of their strong areas in the establishment of social relations and in their scholar performance. Finally, we analysed the adequation of the Individual Educational Program of the student that is “being studied” with the theoretical orientations mentioned in the modern literature.
