Abstract
Although the problem of indiscipline in schools is not a new phenomenon, it is in our point of view an issue that plays a great role in the lives of teachers, parents, students and administrative sectors. It is important to mention that indiscipline in school is in many cases associated to the behaviour of the individuals who do not follow the standard or pattern established by the institution (school) they attend which can bring violent behaviours.
The present study has a general aim which is to identify the causes of indiscipline.
We have defined as a research strategy, the use of quantitative methodology based on a questionnaire given to 345 students and 46 teachers of a Portuguese School in Angola.
The results obtained allow us to conclude that the issue of indiscipline is a concern for students as well as for teachers of this school. Students have shown consciousness about indiscipline being practiced in school and they have, as well as teachers, pointed out strategies to its prevention, namely, more supervision and rigidness from teachers.
We conclude that there is still a long path to walk to continuously improve by analyzing our habits in order to diminish the indiscipline in schools being this our aim.
