Internal communication has assumed an important role as a tool for the participation of all members within an organization. Today, executives are aware that a clear internal communication, based on rigor and respect for the employees is as or more important than the other communicational processes established externally with various stakeholders. The following report aims to clarify the concept of internal communication and its importance to the success of organizations. More specifically, I will try to clarify by what forms internal communication forms contributes, or can contribute, to organizational commitment and how this affects employees’ individual performance. Accordingly, and in order to comply with the goals I proposed, I will resort to a number of authors and their respective theoretical approaches on the subject and a practical case study at GCI, communication agency where I did my internship, using validated and analyzed surveys.
