Since its inception, radio has changed the way the world communicates, despite the many challenges it has faced over the years. Much later, the emergence of the Internet seemed to be another challenge, which was accentuated by the appearance of social networks. However, online platforms have brought a number of advantages to radio. This dissertation is based on this premise, focusing on Twitter (X) as the object of study. In particular, it seeks to examine how Twitter (X) shapes the radio journalistic production of Rádio Antena 1 and Rádio Observador. The use that these media outlets and their journalists make of the platform was analyzed: for what functions they use it, in what circumstances, with what regularity, among other dimensions. To this end, semi-in-depth interviews were conducted with two journalists from each of the radio stations, and their Twitter profiles (X) were analyzed, as well as the profiles of the two radio stations under study. This dissertation was based on four different processes of analysis (Weiss, 1995): coding, ordering, local integration and inclusive integration. This study led to the conclusion that journalists from both radio stations are aware of the benefits that their presence on Twitter (X) can bring to the development of their work. The journalists interviewed are aware of how important the platform is for them to be able to carry out their work, despite mentioning the dangers associated with the platform. According to the results, there seems to be a trend indicating that younger journalists use Twitter more (X). Regarding each radio station's use of the platform, Rádio Observador has well-defined communication lines and teams, unlike Antena 1 which, despite having been on Twitter (X) for longer, is still at an embryonic stage of integration.
