The concessionaire of the public radio and television service has as one of its missions to disseminate information about the events that happen all over the country and abroad, having an added responsibility to give visibility to regional information. In order to understand how such coverage is carried out, our study focuses on the RTP 1 programme "Portugal em Direto" which gives particular attention to the news of the different districts and archipelagos. We seek to understand how this programme is produced and how it gives visibility to the information coming from the different regions. For this purpose, we analysed 22 editions of the programme "Portugal em Direto" broadcasted during the month of November 2021. Regarding the research methods, we used the quantitative method of content analysis based on variables produced and categorized of origin such as the place of coverage, the time of coverage, the type of actors interviewed in each news item, the form and genre of reporting, the tone of the news items and the various subjects or specific themes addressed. On the other hand, we used qualitative methods, such as participant observation and semidirective or informal interviews. In general, and according to the results obtained, we register that the program "Portugal em Direto" does not make an equal coverage of the whole Portuguese territory including Azores and Madeira islands. This asymmetry of coverage is the result of a set of editorial decisions and also of the lack of human resources in the various regional delegations that are part of RTP and on which the programme "Portugal em Direto" is highly dependent.
