Background: Artificial Intelligence is a technology that allows industry to grow at a faster pace and complete its work efficiently. It has entered various departments, such as Human Resources Management. Objective: To find out the perceptions of Human Resources professionals about the adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resources Management. Material and methods: Quantitative, descriptive-correlational and cross-sectional study. The data collection instrument used was a sociodemographic characterization questionnaire (ad hoc), the Houmd Scale (2021) "The adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Management", adapted and validated for this study, and questions about companies that adopt Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Management, to understand its advantages, disadvantages and the areas of Human Resource Management where this tool adds the most value (ad hoc). Results: In a sample of 210 professionals working in Human Resources in various districts of Portugal, 82.9% reported that their company had not yet adopted Artificial Intelligence in Human Resources Management. Among those whose company has already implemented AI in HR, the advantages for all (100.0%) are improved decision-making, effective and efficient operations and agility and speed of processes. As disadvantages, all (100.0%) pointed out the High cost of implementation and maintenance, Replacement of jobs, High dependence on infrastructure, AI does not have cognitive abilities to develop creativity, as the human brain is capable of, To operate and maintain the functioning of some machines and systems, qualified labor is required. They consider that it adds the most value, especially in Recruitment & Selection (22.0%), Performance Management (19.0%), Change Management (17.0%) and Training Management (14.%). Conclusion: The data obtained supported the hypotheses formulated, suggesting that the participants generally consider that Artificial Intelligence, from the point of view of Human Resources Management, presents emerging and increasingly reliable solutions.
