The functioning and organization of schools has suffered several modifications since the decade of 1980s, through the significant proliferation of legal norms with substantial implications in the organization, operation and management of educational establishments. Since the beginning, our work has been established in some principles that support the intrinsic relationships between management and leadership, in order to focus the critical thinking in the reasons that helps us to understand and perceive the changes in the educational institutions, proposed by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers no 44/2010, of June 14, that opens the door to the "mega groupings", as well as the influence of the leadership in the creation of the new school space. This dissertation, albeit briefly, will exhibit with special interest, since we experienced it personally, the steps taken in order to form the group of schools of Póvoa de Lanhoso. At the same time, this reflection has allowed us to observe the leadership conduct and reveal some of its own procedures and orientations such as its clear objectives, cooperative and accountable work, interpersonal relationships and the participation of all the members involved (students, teachers, parents / guardians, technical assistents, among others) that have influenced the life in the educational community and, from our own point of view, have better adjusted to the implementation of this "new" school reality that was intended as fair, mindful and focused on providing quality education Our observations, in this process of aggregation, joining or fusion of schools, have tried to express, as far as possible, the influence of some actors, the discussions, the ups and downs, the opinions and comments, the inevitabilities, as well as the economical and administrative tasks often in the detriment of the pedagogical concerns and practices of involvement and autonomy. Conscious that, sometimes, it is not an easy task to put all school members in the same "path" because, for some, the words, the sentences, the gestures, the looks are seen as applauses, for others as acquittal and even for some, fortunately only a few, as setbacks and censorship. Nonetheless, the path is built along the way... and the "new" school, despite the initial restlessness and entanglements, is gradually making its way abandoning the worries and assuming an educational culture capable of involving all of its participants.
