This research seeks, through a practical exercise carried out together with theoretical investigation, understand some of the ways in which there is an evident relationship between comedy and animation. The practical investigation was developed in different stages, namely through the appropriation of a pudding recipe which mirrors the creative process of developing an animated film. Finally, the material collected was used to create a script that resulted in a storyboard. Animation, despite being commonly known as a genre, is inserted into the cinematographic world as a medium, capable of developing humorous narratives with hybrid genre characteristics. This dissertation aims to explore the plasticity of animation, within the European commercial, social and cultural context, through the appropriation of a pudding, as an artistic and study object, which aims to exemplify and contest the tenuous limits between cinematographic genres. Taking these perspectives into account, the question that guides this research is: Is it possible to create a hybrid comic animated film using a pudding recipe as the basis of the creative process?
