Abstract

Within the scope of the 14th Master´s Course in Nursing with specialization in medical-surgical nursing in nursing for the critical person, this report was carried out, which includes a continuous reflection on the path taken, with unique opportunities for personal and professional enrichment. This report aims to provide a summary and detailed description of the master´s and specialist nurse skills that were developed throughout this Master´s Course, allowing a critical and reflective analusis of all the experiences I had the opportunity to experience, and also,the share the results of the research work carried out. The results of the research presented in this report concern a scoping review that addresses the death rituals present in the five most popular religions in the world. Death rituals are present in all religions studied, helping both the person at the end of life and their family to overcome the fear of the unknown in the face of death. The research carried out aims to develop master´s skills by contributing to the knowledge and improvement of care by raising the awareness of health professionals, namely nurses, to the specific rituals inherent in each of the religions addressed so that they are respected and made to be respected. Within the scope of internships, skills were developed through the provision of specialized nursing care to people in critical situations and their families.For the development of specialist skills in medical-surgical nursing in the area of the person in critical situation, internships were carried out in three different contexts that included an intensive unit care, a emergency service and in an extra-hospital context. The accomplishments of these internships subsidized several opportunities for the development of differentiating competences in caring for people in critical situations, but also constituted determinants in the construction of a critical-reflective analysis of acting.
