The theater of the Oppressed (TO) aims personal and social transformation, through the exploration of situations of oppression in which the participants feel they are subject, as well as encouraging and enabling individuals to act on these situations. The general objective of this study was to explore the perceived influence of the participation of 3rd cycle students in a TO group on their social-emotional development and school involvement. It is a case study, developed in a TEIP school (educational territory of priority intervention) with a sample of seven participants – the TO facilitator, three TO participating students, and the respective class directors. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews. The results obtained by the different participants in the study point to the existence of positive changes in terms of well-being, socioemotional development and school involvement of young people, so that the TO can be a pedagogical tool with an impact on the social-emotional development and school involvement of young people.
