The Final Report presented results from the work carried out and developed during the Master's Degree in Religious Sciences, including Supervised Teaching Practice, carried out at Externato da Luz, in Lisbon, in a 6th year class. The topics covered were: “Jesus a man for others” and “The Sharing of Bread”. The themes proposed for the 6th year at EMRC ( Catholic Religion and Moral Education) start from an anthropological perspective of the human person, the dimension of “being”, with the example of Jesus as a “backdrop”, and on the horizon themes such as hunger, poverty and the environmental crisis, which are covered in the last UL “the sharing of bread”, aim to develop skills for the exercise of full citizenship, respect for the differences and rights of others and also to awaken in students an appetite for “transcendence”. In the reflection presented, service to others is highlighted, especially those who are in the peripheries, those who suffer the most from the environmental crisis. Education is a service and the path to the humanization of society, whose ecological challenges require the school to educate for solidarity service, as a way of rescuing humanity from a culture of disposability, of unbridled consumption that does not recognize the sacredness of nature, as a gift. Therefore, I set out to undertake a study on themes such as “Anthropological Causes of the Ecological Crisis” and “Integral Ecological Education”, and to present the “Vincentian Charism” and “Pedagogy of Service” as proposals and instruments for an effective humanization of Education and society.
