The Nursing Master´s Degree with Specialization on Medical-Surgical Nursing incorporates into its structure the curricular unit Internship. This document constitutes the Internship Report of internship modules made: Pre-Hospital Emergency and Emergency Department. The Internship took place during the period between April 19 and November 27, 2010, the Pre-Hospital Emergency module was performed at the National Institute for Medical Emergencies, while the Emergency Department module was performed at the S. João Hospital.The Internship Report is intended to describe in a reflective manner and based on existing scientific evidence the activities experienced during the Internship and relate them with the developed competencies. Throughout this Report the activities description and reflection about them are organized by competencies groups; after the introduction, we present the development in which are described the activities and their relationship with the competencies. We finish with the general conclusions. Are presented the bibliographical references and attached some important data and reflections.Always grounded in evidence-based practice, this report focuses on the most significant problem-situations found during the internship and the suggestions of resolution measures proposed. In it we make an important reflection about the nursing work methodology found and nursing care humanization; to the records of independent nursing interventions was given special attention because we consider them one of the main shortcomings of the nursing practice in places where internship held.The central reflection of this Report, inseparable from a substantial percentage of the considerations made throughout this document relates to the nursing practice found: although the Advanced Nursing Practice is today appointed as the right direction for the profession development, the revealed reality at Internship places found it´s definition in the Nursing Advanced Practice concept. Through the experienced activities, we also reflect about risk management, quality policy, therapeutic communication and management. We conclude this document with final remarks about the performed learning, reflecting on the most important contributions that have resulted from exchanges between the student and the internship place – whith special relief to the conducted in-service training. We finish with the prospects in terms of professional future.
