This study aims to characterize the journalistic practice of club channels. Thesedays, most financially capable football clubs have started to invest in the creation of theirown media, by employing journalists whose job it is to produce information about theclub. Therefore, there is a need for great control by the institution's communicationadvisors regarding what is published and done, so that the least possible risk is taken andavoid being in the news for bad reasons. Thus, the fundamentals that lead to confessionaljournalism being increasingly prevalent in the communication strategies of theconfessions they represent are explored. At an empirical level and taking BTV as a casestudy, semi-structured interviews were carried out with three journalists from the channel,in addition to a content analysis of five news sections of this television station. It wasconcluded that there is a close relationship between the BTV Professionals and all theBenfica´s members, from Managers to Athletes and Coaches, with an increasing use of these media to disseminate the professional component of these members.
