Abstract

This work on man's predestination to divine filiation, based on two works of theological anthropology by the authors, Ruiz de la Peña and Luis Ladaria, seeks to develop divine filiation within the horizon of a creation in Christ, whose mediation is found in creation and redemption. Though his incarnation, Jesus united himself to every human being in order to make them share in his divinity, in other words, his divine filiation. What's more, the Son of God himself, in order to fulfil the Father's plan, also gave his life on the cross to redeem human sin. Therefore, through Christ's incarnation and justification, the life of communion and filiation in God is opened up to man once again through faith and baptism by the action of the Holy Spirit. In experiencing Christ's free gift of grace, man is truly a son of God and, once united to Christ, enters into brotherhood with all human beings.
