Abstract

This report aims to describe and analyze all the process covered in the acquisition and development of skills Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing, according to the syllabus of the course. This reflects a learning process at a learning in a training program developed in three modules, which are going to be present in a date order. Module I - was conducted in the Emergency Central Service, where I highlight 22/04/2013 to 22/06/2013 the activities in the provision of patient care in urgent/ emergent situations, focus on the quality of care centered on person/ family identifying noise implications relieved promoted care and comfort based on the theory of Kolkaba. Module III Hospitalar Infection Control in comitte of Central Hospital, was conducted during the period from 29/09/2013 to 16/11/2013, where I tried to develop skills based in the quality of care during the inter-hospital transport supporting the importance of material and equipment decontamination, at the same time remembering the basic precautions, based in Florence Nightingale principles and others. Module II realized in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital between 18/11/2013 and 31/01/2014, where I wanted to contribute for the best practices to succeed quality of care, showing the importance of capnography, highlighting Jean Watson. Also was performed a systematic review of literature as support for skills acquisition, as well as cross these three modules concern with the training staff and services where nurses spent reflecting on an important strategy in relation to the change of effective behaviors to have quality care. The methodology used in the report was descriptive and analytical, have been conducted based on bibliographic research and reflective portfolio developed in each module of the stage. The general and specific objectives have been achieved, resulting in a deepening of skills required for the award of the title of Specialist Nurse at that sustain this whole process was a deep critical reflection on the quality care practice centered on person to promote the quality and excellence based on the theorists mentioned and on the Carl Rogers psychotherapeutic theory.
