Interviews were conducted with five young adults (4 females and 1 male), aged between 18 and 29 years, residing in the area of Oporto. Participants were asked to reflect, through a semi-structured interview guide on the father's and mother’s nteraction before and after the divorce, the factors influencing this relationship, and the perception about the main changes experienced in coparental relationship over time. The results seem to suggest that children are more present at coparental respect for the parents' marriage. This fall before the phase of post-divorce brings out a set of negative characteristics that explain the absence of coparental relationship after divorce. Dad's and mother negative characteristics at the wedding, are seen as difficulties in maintaining coparental relationship post-divorce, and that there is through the emotional challenges for each of the players.
