Under the Master in Business Economics, a curricular internship takes place in Page Group, a company dedicated to Recruitment and Selection. This internship was the basis of this Master’s Final where it is analyzed the relationship between the placements performed by the company and the unemployment rate registered. For such, it was first draft a literature review in order to make a theme framework under the state of science in what concerns the recruitment and unemployment, addressing more specifically the research models of Hosios (1985) and Howitt and McAfee (1987). It follows a brief presentation of the Page Group, particularly in what regards its methods of recruitment and selection, as well as their forms of research and analysis of its competitors. Then, a case study depicts the existence of a statistically significant inverse correlation between placements made by the company and the unemployment rate. It is noticed that this correlation is closely related to the decrease of requested proposals by customers, but there is not enough data to prove that the same correlation does not derive from a lack of suitability of the candidates presented by the Page Group or its reluctance to accept job proposals submitted by the company’s clients.
