This work focuses on a historical figure from the 10th century, Saint Rosendo, who took on the role of bishop, abbot and peacemaker in the region that currently corresponds to northern Portugal and Galicia. In order to understand the lines that guide the life of Saint Rosendo, we have first sought to understand, although in a summarised manner, the monastic history of the mentioned region. In this sense, we will speak of a period that begins with the origin and form of monasticism in these two regions up to the monastic reality of Saint Rosendo so as to understand in which concrete religious field the action of our saint moved. Knowing the life journey of Saint Rosendo from his birth to his death will help us to understand who Saint Rosendo was and what contribution he left us, which will lead us to the point which we consider to be the most important in this work, which is to understand, through the cult given to Saint Rosendo, whether history and people have remembered the divine intercession of this saint, or whether he has been forgotten as just one name among many others in the catalogue of saints.
