The profession of a God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the central mystery of the faith and life of the Church. Over the centuries, the complexity and density of the dogma of the Holy Trinity has challenged the theological-liturgical language, which has found in art an eloquent means of expression. The present dissertation seeks to develop the way in which this ineffable mystery has been represented in liturgical art through image, euchology and symbolism. The first chapter presents a brief contextualisation of the evolution and explicitnessof the dogma of the Holy Trinity. The second chapter presents the relationship between the Trinity and the liturgy, taking into account the euchological texts, rites, gestures and liturgical symbols. In the third chapter the different models of Trinitarian representation are identified from images, sculptures, paintings, manuscripts and icons. Through a hermeneutical reading of these representations, we glimpse the intrinsic relationship between a lex credendi which is, at the same time, lex orandi.
