Abstract

This dissertation aims to carry out a critical reflection on the implementation of social responsibility policies in companies in the craft beer industry in the district of Braga. The main objective that is sought with this work is to understand if corporate social responsibility is present in the strategy of the studied companies. In this study, three companies were interviewed, Cervejaria Letra, Portuguese Craft Beer and Régia. To achieve the defined objectives, a semi-structured interview was used to collect information and an analysis of its content was carried out. Through the vast bibliography on Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as the different methodologies and theories defended by the authors, although there is no concept unanimously accepted by all, the model used by Schwartz and Carroll (2003) to analyze the practices was defined of each of these craft beer production companies, evaluate the extent to which Corporate Social Responsibility measures are implemented, consequently, conclude whether the companies present a strategy aligned with corporate social responsibility policies. After the analysis, it was possible to conclude that these companies adopt Corporate Social Responsibility practices, however, they adopt them, in large part, for economic reasons.
